Notion

Create pages and manage databases in Notion. In Appbricx, your workflows and server functions call it by name once it is connected.

What you can do

13 actions, each one call from a workflow or a server function. Triggers come from your app: a row changing, a schedule or a webhook.

  • Create Database Itemcreate_database_item
    Add a new item to a Notion database with custom field values and optional content. Ideal for creating tasks, records, or entries in structured databases.
  • Create PagecreatePage
    Create a new Notion page as a sub-page with custom title and content. Perfect for organizing documentation, notes, or creating structured page hierarchies.
  • Retrieve Database Structureretrieve_database
    Get detailed information about a Notion database including all its properties, field types, and configuration. Perfect for building dynamic forms, validation rules, or understanding database schemas.
  • Update Database Itemupdate_database_item
    Update specific fields in a Notion database item. Perfect for maintaining data, tracking changes, or syncing information across systems.
  • Add Commentadd_comment
    Add a comment to any Notion page to start discussions, provide feedback, or leave notes for team collaboration.
  • Append to Pageappend_to_page
    Appends content to the end of a page.
  • Archive Database Itemarchive_database_item
    Archive (soft-delete) a database item without permanently removing it. Archived items can be restored later if needed.
  • Find Pagefind_page
    Search for Notion pages by title with flexible matching options. Perfect for finding specific pages, building page references, or creating automated workflows based on page discovery.
  • Get Page Commentsget_page_comments
    Retrieve all comments from a Notion page, organized by discussion threads. Perfect for tracking feedback, managing reviews, or monitoring page discussions.
  • Get block contentgetPageOrBlockChildren
    Retrieve the actual content of a page (represented by blocks).
  • Find Database Itemnotion-find-database-item
    Searches for an item in database by field.
  • Restore Database Itemrestore_database_item
    Restore an archived database item back to active status. Perfect for recovering accidentally archived tasks, projects, or records.

Set it up

About two minutes, once per project or once for the whole workspace.

  1. Open Integrations in the builder

    Backend panel, Integrations tab, then Notion. To connect it for every project, use Workspace settings, Integrations.

  2. Sign in to Notion

    You sign in to Notion and approve access. Appbricx keeps the tokens, encrypted, and refreshes them.

    This uses an OAuth app: the platform's, or your own from the admin panel, and you can bring your own credentials.

  3. Call an action

    From a workflow, by integration id and action name. The call answers with success, output and, when it fails, the reason.

    Workflow
    // .workflow.js (native ctx)
    export async function run(ctx) {
      const res = await ctx.integrations.invoke("notion", "create_database_item", {
        "database_id": "<database_id>",
        "databaseFields": {}
      });
      if (!res.success) throw new Error(res.error);
      ctx.log.info("Notion answered", { output: res.output });
    }
